What is Healthy Start?
Healthy Start enables you to get £4.25 every week and free vitamins to support you during pregnancy, breastfeeding and vitamin drops for babies and young children.
The money can be used to help you buy things like milk, fruit, veg and infant formula.
How does it work?
You will get a pre-paid card to use in shops that sell food and milk.
Who can apply?
1. Anyone pregnant and under 18
2. Over 18 need to be:
At least 10 weeks pregnant or
Have at least 1 child under 4
Also need to be in receipt of certain benefits
Healthy Start Vitamins
Healthy Start vitamins are also available free of charge for during and after pregnancy, as well as for your children. Midwives and health visitors can support you to collect the vitamins.
